Weight Room Renovation Update
Painting inside & outside finished, Floor install end of next week with Sound system install July

Cougar Corner
We will be moving to Portable 306 which is next to the Updated Weight Room which is southeast of our current location. We purchased some vinyl floor tiles from Habitat Restore for an incredible price of $170 for 1550 square feet of linoleum. We will install new floor on top of old floor mid July. We need to have furniture moved out and floor cleaned and stripped. New ceiling tiles will be installed beginning of July.

Once the new floor is installed, we can begin moving shelving and clothing. The athletes have offered to help! The food has already been moved and is sitting on the countertops in 306. Our new space has sinks!

We have been feeding sandwiches to the athletes this summer that have been working out since school has been out, in our new space. We see about 15-25 kids Monday – Thursday. They sit in Cougar Corner and chat with us while they eat. If you would like to come and hang out, we are in 306 from 930-12.

Specific Clothing, Shoes & Food needs:
Clothes:
– black flats for girls,
– boys & girls athletic shoes,
– girls leggings all sizes. No other clothes needed at this time!

Food:
Once we get closer to school starting, we will restock the shelves with meal items the kids can cook at home if needed. (mac & cheese, ready rice, instant potatoes, canned chicken and tuna, etc).
Mr. Hightower, the booster club President has a Pop Tart vendor that will give us some free boxes each week!

Future Projects
– Homecoming Parade
– Alumni Volunteers needed to build our Homecoming Float!

Volunteers Needed to:
– Sort, organize and box clothes to prepare for moving to 306
– Size & Box shoes to be moved to 306

Once school starts, we’ll need volunteers to:
– prep lunch sacks (can be done way in advance or on the weekends, we will provide all supplies)
– help make sandwiches for Band on game days (1.5-2 hours)
– help feed athletes on game days (1.5-2 hours)

Fundraisers & Donations Needed:
Cheerleaders will be having another car wash at Taco Casa before summer is over. Their car wash last weekend was a huge success making them over $700. Next Car wash date will be posted when we hear.

Early August fundraiser for Booster Club who will be selling tickets for breakfast at Applebee’s $10/ticket. Players and cheerleaders will be the servers! Date will be posted as soon as we hear.

Need Band Sponsorships to feed Band students before all football games $60/student

We recently had large donations from Class of 78, and Madelon Leonard Bradshaw, Norm & Robin Bagwell.

Wrestling & Soccer teams had a fundraising event at Sonics in Benbrook and on Camp Bowie West. We will post new dates when we hear. Please stop by and order something cold and when the kids deliver, give them a good tip!

School Supply Drive
When school supply sales begin, and I think Staples is about to begin, we will need pens and pencils, college ruled paper, Kleenex, markers and highlighters. Possibly more but these will start. We don’t need until mid August but please stock up! Thanks

If you are interested in setting up a monthly donation, you can do so through PayPal. Donations as little as $5/month would be greatly appreciated. Monthly Paypal donations can help us self fund food for these

Cougars. Please tell other alumni!

Feel free to message, email or text me if you are interested in volunteering! Those that will be volunteering at school this fall will need to complete registration online at fwisd.org. If you were cleared last school year, you will need to re-sign up.
