Patty Azuma Pressley graduated from Western Hills in 1982. She attended the University of Texas at Austin and has worked for Barry Nash & Company for 25 years. She is a Co-Founder of the WHHS Cougar Pride Foundation which began in October 2017. Known at Western Hills as Ms. Patty, she can be found in Cougar Corner almost every school day and has been the Executive Director since day one. She resides in Fort Worth with her partner, Ralph Lauer who is also an alumni, WHHS Class of 1981 and their dogs Alfie and Rosie.
Saralyn Vance Carrillo graduated from WesternHills in 1982. Saralyn co-founded the WHHS Cougar Pride Foundation in 2017 after attending the initial LVT Rise meeting with Patty Pressley and Karen Lindsay Landon and learning about the needs of current WHHS students. Saralyn currently serves as Treasurer of the foundation while maintaining her full-time position as Grants Manager for the Rainwater Charitable Foundation in Fort Worth. She holds a B.S. degree in Management from Western Governors University, and an MBA from Texas Tech University. Saralyn and her husband Julio live in Benbrook and have two grown children, Alexandra (WHHS ’11, TTU ‘16) and Andrew (TABS ’17, LUC ’20).
Shawn Doherty graduated from Western Hills in 1982. Shawn co-founded the WHHS Cougar Pride Foundation in 2017 and agreed to serve as chairperson. The formation of the foundation happened to coincide with Shawn’s return to Ft. Worth after 30 years and was his perfect way to re-connect with Ft. Worth and his classmates from WHHS. Shawn still serves as an Executive Director for the London-based consulting firm ERM—a firm for which he served as European Regional CEO, Chief Commercial Officer, and Head of Digital Strategy. Shawn has as B.S. in Geology from TCU, a M.S. in Geology from UCLA, and the AMP Certificate from The Wharton School. Shawn and his wife Kelli live in Ft. Worth and their son Evan is a petroleum engineer living and working in Houston.
Schavion Graham graduated from Auburn University with a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration and a Master’s in Higher Education Administration. Schavion has a professional work history that includes human resource management, classroom educator, and workforce career counselor. He has always had a passion for serving others through volunteering and can be displayed through him being a graduate of Leadership ISD Civic Voices Tarrant County class of 2021, volunteer work through Goodwill, and serving the Las Vegas Trail Revitalization Project (LVTRise) through connecting residents to workforce services. Schavion is currently the full-time Development Coordinator with LVTRise and this is how he was introduced to the WHHS Cougar Pride Foundation (now the Cougar Pride Alliance). Mr. Graham knows that community is not limited to where you live or work, but also where you invest your time and effort. He currently resides in Bedford, TX.
Rosemary Cruz graduated from Capella University with a degree in Business Management and Leadership. A proven leader, business executive, and management mentor, Rosemary’s track record of success spans a 20+ year career in retail and nonprofit leadership. As Vice President of Donated Goods & Retail Sales for Goodwill North Central Texas, Rosemary oversees 14 attended donation sites, home pickup service, recycling & salvage sales. In addition, the operations of 27 retail stores and a large e-commerce department. In 2019 Rosemary was accepted into Leadership Fort Worth, class of 2021. Outside of work, Rosemary volunteers her time and resources to causes that are important to her, including work with the LVT Rise Education Committee to help provide resources to Fort Worth’s West Side schools and their families. She is a member of Aledo Children’s AdvoCats and of the Junior League of Fort Worth. She also volunteers in honor of her son Jack with causes centered around children with Autism including fundraising for Autism Speaks, and volunteering with the Center for ASD in Burleson.
